For whom the taco bell tolls
The Buffalo News

The
Bills have theirs; now, we want ours.
That's straight
from the folks at Mighty Taco, who are threatening to move unless they get some
guarantees. Sound like familiar negotiating language?
This is what
the Mighty Taco people want:
A train line
from Albany to the Walden Avenue location, county-backed guarantee of hard-shell
taco sales and luxury boxes at each location. Or they're out of here.
The threats – the
handiwork of Mighty Taco and Paragon Advertising – are contained in radio
commercials and in letters to state and county officials.
What's more
amazing is that Andrew Gerovac, Mighty Taco president, actually got a reply.
Assemblyman
Sam Hoyt said he was especially upset about the threatened move to Gary, Ind.
"News
of Gary Indiana's offer disturbs me," Hoyt said. "I know Gary,
and he hasn't said anything to me about this matter."
Hoyt said
he'll go along with a rail station and taco sale guarantee. He can't support
luxury boxes, he said, but luxury booths would be OK.
Gerovac especially likes Hoyt's plan for financing the guarantees "by extending
the 'sin tax' to all menu items at Taco Bell."
